Frame Inspection!

Seems like it's been a long time 'waiting our turn' for the 'punch framers' who come through and do the finish up.  We have some cool additions, each one a step forward to making our house a 'house'.

Unfortunately we've been delayed 2 weeks while waiting for the punch framers to be available so our closing date was pushed out from Sept 29th to Oct. 20th.  We'll get a better estimate in a week or two since we won't be in town Oct 20th.  We'll either push forward a week or back until we return.

The VP of construction spoke with us on Friday regarding our time line.  We should be passed inspection and moving forward by the end of the week.  Updates should come a lot more quickly now as the slower frame portion is almost finished!

Slow Progress Forward - Dry Wall Soon!

With so many homes being built in our community all at the same 'point' in the build process, we're all competing for workers.   Unfortunately we were waiting for over a week for the framers to be available to modify the frame.  We now have a door in our bedroom, our fireplace is raised, our staircase is correct. They also raised our front window.

We also had an issue with our shingles - there is a slightly different color variation since the shingles used came from what appears to be two different dye lots.

The framers walked through and added many 'support beams' in places where they felt additional support may be needed as well.

Based on estimates we are now '45 days out'.  We'll see, based on the contractors and availability but it should start coming together more quickly now, once we get past sheet rock.
