Finishing out - Cabinets and woodworking!

Things seem to be coming together quickly.

We have cabinets through the house, still waiting on a few cabinets in the kitchen to be completed but all base cabinets are in place.   We have shelves in closets, window seals and crown molding. Starting to get all pretty!

We walked through quickly today and verified tile/carpet locations.

Painters should start paining in the next few days.  Tile will start later this week.  We have baseboards upstairs but most baseboards don't get put into place until after hard surfaces and the downstairs is basically all hard surfaces.

A cleaning crew will come through this week after paint so everything is nice and clean for the tile workers.

Stone on the outside is still a work in progress, should have stone fireplace finished out this week as well.

We had our kitchen measured today for granite. Also our garage doors have been ordered so within 2 weeks we should have granite, tile and garage doors.  Coming together big time!

Really looking forward to seeing 1) stucco paint color, 2) fixtures, 3) appliances :)

Stone Continues, texture - every week it looks more and more like a house!

The stone crews finished one wall and the back but still have to finish the front, side and fire place.
Stucco is now applied and is drying.  The stone crew ran out of stone and another 12 tons have been ordered.  12 tons!!!  Can't imagine how much stone the whole place must have been.  The stone crew will be back Saturday and should finish next week.  Stucco should also be painted next week so 'outside' of the house should be finished.  Can't wait to see it all come together!

We have an appointment to meet with the landscaping company to pick our trees, shrubs and such.
We get 3 trees, 10 5 gallon shrubs, 10 1 gallon shrubs and then 5 flats of followers.  We plan to do Texas ash and two Texas red oak shade trees.

My trim has been delivered and the crown molding will start to be installed tomorrow, as well as the baseboards on the upstairs rooms.  All hard surface rooms get trim installed after the floor.  The trim crew came through and marked the closets today to begin installing shelves.  I have interior doors and they are to begin install today and finish tomorrow.

Cabinets were supposed to be today but they want another day for the texture to dry so they should be dropped off and installed tomorrow.  Then next week the house will be painted.

Our granite has been ordered, as well as our garage doors.

Thinking the next few weeks should be very exciting!

Beautiful side of the house!  Love how it turned out!

Stone continue - taped and floated!

The sheer volume of stone that's being used in my house is crazy!  The whole side of the house will be stone all the way up the sides.  It's super cool looking though!  I'm very happy with how pretty it is turning out.  It's taking them quite some time to get done though!

They have finished one post on the back porch and are working on the other two.

Inside the house they have 'taped and floated' and added cool edges around corners.
They do this part in multiple steps over multiple days.  Once this is dry they will add the 'texture' and then do a base coat of paint.

We may be looking at getting cabinets in the next two weeks!

Wow - looks like a house now!

What a difference a few walls make!

Next steps - the crew has to come through and 'tape and float' the dry wall and then we wait for the mud to dry.  In other news the stone crew is busy working on the outside of our house - it's looking great!

WOW - Progress!

Once the inspection passed things moved fast!
We are starting our stone as soon as our friends Bryan and Marlo Youde get finished with them!  Lol - yes they are building a house in our area as well and we are using the same crew to do our stone - kind of cool!  We were told to go look at their work and give them any feedback on things we want different.  (more space between stones or things like that).  Kind of neat!

We also got the engineer review of the house and final sign off from inspection so sheet rock is a go!  Check this out!!!  More pics to come but finally getting ceilings and walls today was a very cool step!
